500 gr dry fava beans
2 litre cold water
1 large onion cut in quarters
1 Tablespoon salt
2 Tablespoon sugar
3 Tablespoon pomegranate molasses
5 Tablespoons olive oil
1 bunch fresh dill chopped
1 lemon juice
1. Mix all the ingredients in a deep saucepan. Over a medium heat slowly boil the water until the beans are soft and fall apart about 20 minutes.
2. Once the beans are soft enough, transfer to a blender and blitz the beans and all the ingredients together until paste and add the lemon juice and taste the seasoning.
3. Pour over a lightly oiled tray and cover with baking paper. Keep them in the fridge until the mixture sets. Ready to eat. Enjoy.
