Lydia Sayeg
Lydia Leão Sayeg is a Brazilian jeweler, gemologist, businesswoman, presenter and a Brazil socialite as the third successor of Casa Leão Joaheria, founded in 1912 in São Paulo. Her passion for jewelry came from her family. At the age of 18, Lydia started to design and sell her first designs, and at the age of 19, she convinced her father to open a jewelry store for her to run. Lydia holds degrees in Industrial Design from Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) in São Paulo, and Gemology from the Gemological institute of America (GIA). She became the first woman to be appointed as Director of the Association of Jewelers of the State of São Paulo. She was elected at the age of 27, thus being the youngest Director in office. With her experience in the market and with Casa Leão, Lydia managed to forge several relationships with celebrities and people with strong influence in São Paulo’s educational sphere. Philanthropy has always been important to Lydia Sayeg, and she continues to be involved as she visits and helps Hope House, a philanthropic institution that provides support to children and adolescents with cancer. Lydia has been a sponsor of LDE Empresarial e Experience for more than 16 years and is a lecturer in the luxury MBA courses at FAAP and University of São Paulo (USP).
